The Amargi invites young students and aspiring journalists from Germany and across Europe to join an intensive, fully supported journalism workshop. This three-day program builds strong foundations in ethical reporting, critical thinking, and digital media, designed for those aiming to pursue journalism professionally.
Expected in April, exact date to be announced.
We cover: return travel, 3 nights accommodation (shared rooms), all meals, two full training days, mentorship & editorial engagement.
Arrival: Fri | Departure: Sun evening or early Mon
Program at a glance
Fri evening: welcome dinner, introductions, overview
Sat: foundations (ethics, fact-checking, interviewing, writing) + digital (social media, multimedia, audiences, misinformation)
Sun until 2 PM: writing lab, pitch development, 1:1 feedback, publication-ready drafts, career pathways
After the training
We will commission three contributions from selected participants, with editorial guidance through publication.
Who can apply?
Young students or early-career journalists with a Middle Eastern migrant background, based in Germany or Europe, strong English required, interest in journalism/politics/society/Middle East affairs. Gender balance is a core principle.
