Year in Review 2025: Our Successes and Challenges

Key Projects

We look back on an eventful year in which we successfully launched the project The Amargi and published our first journalistic articles. In addition, we were able to set up an office and establish the organisational structures needed for our work. All of this was only possible thanks to the dedicated support of our community – we are deeply grateful to everyone who has accompanied, supported, and encouraged us.

Events

A particular highlight was the panel discussion “Transformations in the Middle East,” held on November 20, 2025, in Leipzig. Five distinguished experts – including journalist Cengiz Çandar, political scientist Prof. Abbas Vali, sociologist Dr. Joost Jongerden, researcher Rojin Mukryan, and gender expert Dr. Shilan Fuad Hussein – discussed current political, social, and societal developments in the region. The debate combined perspectives from peace negotiations, nationalism, climate politics, gender issues, and social movements, offering insights for a more just and inclusive future in the Middle East.

Outlook 2026

In the coming year, Amargi e.V. is set for an exciting phase of new initiatives: we plan to expand our projects, explore innovative formats, and reach even more people through our projects and initiatives. It promises to be a year full of opportunities, creativity, and shared progress!
